It's gonna be a good night. He just knows it, he can FEEL it! He's got food, movies, beer, liquor, and his own special booze that is hopefully in the right range to not be hammered instantly, but able to be buzzed for at least a couple hours. Now all he needs is Oliver to show up so they can get to bro's night.
He'd been pitching the idea for a while. Hanging out outside of the superhero business, just Oliver and Barry. He was glad when the man finally agreed. He did one last look around to make sure he had everything he needed before Oliver arrived.
"Nope, right on time as always." Barry smiles warmly as he stands back to let Oliver inside. He's glad to see the man. Really glad. Normally bro nights are with Cisco and almost always involve Star Trek in some way.
"I got a couple thriller films, couple of comedys. I'd like to see the new Kingsman film, did you ever get to see the first one?" Barry asks as he moves into the living room and takes a seat on the couch. The food's all spread out and everything looks nice and inviting. Clean. Barry's surprisingly not a slob...completely.
"I have the first one, we can watch both." Barry smiles as he gets up and puts the DVD in the player before returning to his seat. He sits with his legs folded on the couch getting the movie all ready to play. Once it's started he begins to eat some of the food too.
"I'm glad you didn't give up on inviting me," he answers, sitting back with a beer in one hand, resting lightly on one thigh. There's plenty of food but he'll let Barry tear into it first.
"Eh, I understand. Things happen in our line of work, we gotta be flexible." He smiles and settles in more comfortable like. His thigh is touching Oliver's and the warmth is nice, he enjoys it. He also knows it takes Oliver a little while to relax and really unwind anywhere so his tension and uncertainty doesn't phase him in the slightest. He knows the other man will be more at home in a couple hours.
It's not that he's uncertain about Barry or about the moment - but he so very rarely allows himself to let down his guard for any reason. Not an easy habit to break after more than five years on the island and every struggle and every battle he's fought since.
But it's easier to relax around Barry as he settles in against him, reacting to the movie in between snacks with animated expressions and easy smiles.
Barry loves being around the people he loves and Oliver falls into that category fairly easily. When the movie is over Barry offers Oliver a wide smile. "What did you think?" He asks as he stands up to stretch and clean up some of the empty plates and boxes.
He hopes Oliver is enjoying himself, the last thing he would want is to have him over and for Oliver to have a horrible time.
Barry was cleaning up at normal human speed. Over the last year or so, with everything that they'd been through, he'd found himself doing things like this slowly more and more. It made him stop and really savor the moment...enjoy it. Spend quality time with people doing domestic things seemed to fill some small part of him that he didn't realize was lacking.
"Thanks for helping Ollie. I really appreciate it."
For Oliver

Late Oliver is super late
It holds a special connotation to Barry, movies and good food and a night in. A few lifetimes ago it meant club hopping with Tommy.
But he doesn't have it in him to tell Barry no, at least not for long.
So right on time he's at his door, a plate of brownies in one hand and a six pack in the other. "Hi. Hope I'm not late?"
Well, Barry's bad habits were bound to rub off sometime.
"Come on in and make yourself at home."
he's not sure that's a good thing..
.. which might be fun on another night. But maybe not when it's just the two of them.

The apartment looks warm and homey. A nice place and he even toes off his shoes before getting too far inside.

And if Barry doesn't speed through the cleaning, Oliver will at least get up to help out.
